On The Movie Geetha Govindam
Log line:
A young man falls in love with an ideal lady, aspires to marry, however there are all kinds of hurdles of emotional conflicts and social drama, and finds himself a climb uphill.
Heroine's introductory scene:
The heroine RashmIka is at the temple (premise) offering
flowers/doing pooja and praying.
Intro scene: Exposition:
When Nitya ji's vehicle gets flat tire, she gets off of the vehicle. The driver stops in the middle of the road and says the vehicle is stalled and cannot budge. Nitya asks him to first get down, and shouts at the driver for the flat tire.
Q:Why is she losing her calmness?
Q: How come they do not have AAA?
Q: Not sure why the Stepni gas was not checked prior to the
night time long distance journey..
Well anyways, story begins, and it is only introduction of a
character who is more like a listener or prober. Could be that she may be a researcher or journalist or
editor...
Protagonist opening scene:
Vijay Devarakonda sits on a parapete wall of a culvert and
sits as though he was with IQ of Forest Gump, when he appreciates the
chocolates he was munching on, saying " My mom always said life was like a
box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get".. except
Vijay Devarakonda is not playing anything close to Tom Hanks..
When Nitya ji asks this guy on the street if he knows of a
repair shop or something, the dumbest thing you like to hear is he shouts at
her if there is beer for him she can offer. Two dialogues more than necessary
to explain how important CH3-CH2-OH is for this guy.
It doesn't matter if she carries Tharra or so as long as it
is a spirit, he says, when the narrator(Nitya ji) offers a bottle of wine, from
the trunk of the car.. Once again unnecessary dialogues saying her papa hides
it in the trunk. Why would he not think she may have consumed the drink if it
was half empty? Didn't make sense.
If she was drinking, she would have. She is over 21 so, who
asks? Of course viewers do. Sometimes in Indian films you try to see people
with Westernized (?!er really?!) thoughts, and sometimes holding on to
traditional values. It is okay either way, because who is the target audience? A few urbanized intellectuals or the modern traditionists...
No matter what the reason was, regardless, the male protagonist crossing his limits is expected to be accepted as dashing performance. It was a felony to have done that.but cinema viewers are supposed to be liking and enjoying all this "creativity" as entertainment.
Intro scene of Antagonist:The stranger from temple who the
protagonist likes, and day dreams and behaves very rudely with, when she wakes
up, calls her brother who is with two other people, who almost looks like a
hooligan, that is, when the antagonist is
introduced, when his sister calls him from a travel bus similar to a Grey
hound. This incident happens to be a time when story is going from first what
happened, to then what happened to what turn it took, so to say.. such as plot point1 continuation.
Interval is when the antogonist's fiancee calls him and
tells him to find out the guy who eve teased and kissed the female protagonist, exploiting her decency, that's when the antagonist decides to arrive to Hyderabad, to catch the
culprit, to figure out, with the help of some officials from law enforcement.
Story climax is, when the female protagonist is waiting for the
male protagonist to be responsible and accept his errors and express his love towards her, and most
likely, seek forgiveness from her brother, the male protagonist, instead behaves as
though a part of his brain is non functional. She gives him good when he tries
to keep seeking her forgiveness, and never seek her love. What more can one conclude?
It was looking like a poor imitation of Chennai Express
though.
Summary
In conclusion male protagonist learns his lesson as The
firangi returned wannabe husband guides subtly. It is a jumbo gumbo of values
of East and West mixed up and trying to please the mainframe viewers as well as
influence them to think more responsibly.. Not a bad idea, I would give **** (4
Stars) generously. Nothing more .

Definitely needed element of humor, despite such wannabe
